The 2023 USA Cycling Pro Road National Championships will be held in Knoxville June 22 - 25. This is the sixth year for Knoxville to host the U.S. Pro Road and Individual Time Trial Championships and the fifth year to host the U.S. Pro Criterium Championships. This is the FINAL year for this event in Knoxville (for now!) so make sure to volunteer!
Course Marshal - crowd monitoring along race routes to reduce risk to the cyclists, provide rapid communication regarding hazards or incidents, manage and protect spectators by acting as a crossing guard, act as an ambassador to spectators regarding event details, cheer on cyclists as they compete for the gold medal!
- Volunteers will receive a whistle and a USA Cycling branded volunteer shirt
- All shifts will be provided a meal and water throughout the day
- All shifts are outdoors. It is recommended to bring a lawn chair, water, and sun protection
- Training will be provided - Monday, June 19 at 6pm via Zoom - link to be emailed
- Can't make the training? It will be recorded and sent out to all volunteers.
- Open House check-in to pick up items - Tuesday & Wednesday, June 20 & 21, from 6pm to 8pm on both days - DICK'S House of Sport at West Town Mall
- Drop by during either time slot. Alternative pick-up options are available on an as-needed basis.
As a National Governing Body in the Olympic Movement, USA Cycling is bound to comply with protocols set by the SafeSport Center, as mandated by the Safe Sport Authorization Act to protect minors in sport.
Within the National Championship safety checks, we are required to check all persons who are in an official capacity with the event against the banned person list maintained by the SafeSport Center, this includes volunteers. When you sign up to volunteer your name will be checked against the banned person list.
We also encourage all volunteers to take the SafeSport training to increase the number of educated adults to help protect minors in sport.
Volunteer Teams: Don't want to volunteer alone? Invite a friend (or two)! Make sure everyone registers and include their name(s) in the notes when you respond to the need. We'll make our best effort to keep you together!

Criterium - Friday, June 23 DOWNTOWN
- 5pm-9:15pm
Road Race - Sunday, June 25 DOWNTOWN & SOKNO
- 8am-12:15pm
- 12:15-6:15pm
